Save Paper, Toner & Money!

When printing a document the rule is generally to print single sided. But how many of the pages that you print really need to be single sided? I know many of you probably already print many things double sided, but it is very easy to set your printer defaults to print double sided. Just as easy is setting your toner settings to “EconoMode”. This mode uses less toner and actually still looks great!

The steps are below and once you’ve done this please email me back and I’ll add your name to the Quarterly Drawing at the next Employee Meeting.

• From your “Start” menu, select “Printers & Faxes”
• Right click and select “Printing Preferences”.
• Under the “Paper/Quality” tab, check the box marked “EconoMode”
• Under the "Finishing" tab, check the box marked "Print on both sides"

At the next Guiding Principles All-Employee Quarterly Meeting on Thursday 3/19, the PlayGreen team will draw 2 names to win your choice of the following prizes:

In order to qualify, you must complete one of the following challenges by 5pm Wednesday 3/18. Join the PlayGreen team & attend your first meeting on 3/17 to become eligible for the drawing. • As listed on “One Million Acts Of Green,” try washing only a full-load of laundry & running your clothes washer on its shortest cycle. Once completed, email me to let me know. A double whammy in the electricity and water department is the washing machine. It’s a bit of a resource draining bear. It takes about 155 liters of water to do one load of laundry, so make sure it’s a full one. And try putting it on the shortest cycle. This one’s simple: less time = less energy.

We will be sending out different challenges like this on a regular basis, which will make you eligible for prizes at each All-Employee GPC Meeting.
