Girls on the Run
Volunteer Coaches Wanted
We are looking for 4-6
coaches for the Spring Season. Practices are TU/TH 3-5pm at the
Community Center and you don’t have to be a runner to be a coach!
Empower 3rd-5th grade girls to honor their voices, recognize their
gifts, and activate their power to make healthy choices for years to
come! As a coach, you'll experience the program first-hand,
feel a sense of accomplishment that you have made a difference in the
lives of the girls, and have a ton of fun with your team of coaches and
incredible girls!

Scrambled Egg 5K
March 30, 8:30am
City Hall Campus
It’s a 5k with an egg hunt
built in! Join us at Eggstravaganza for our new race! Participants will
find different colored eggs scattered all over the course and each color
will either help or hurt your time. We do not reveal what each color
means until after the race! If you think you are fast, run straight
through without picking up any eggs. Otherwise, try your luck at getting
the best time by collecting up to 10 eggs! We will award prizes for the
overall fastest male and female times in each age group! $25 early
registration fee includes chip timing and tech fabric shirt.
Early bird deadline is 2/28!
Plant of the
Month: Cornus Sericea
(C. stolonifera)
Red Twig Dogwood, Red Osier
Dogwood
Where:
Perrigo Park, Sunset Gardens Park, Cascade View Park
This fast-growing, native
shrub stands out in winter with its bright red stem color. It’s
branches, flowers, and berries provide food and habitat for birds,
butterflies, and small mammals throughout the year. Annually
removing about 1/3 of the oldest stems helps stimulate the growth of
new, younger stems which have the best color.
