We checked the local weather with Kris who lives nearby Camp Long, and the weather is lookin' fine. So, the hike is ON! If you haven't RSVP'd yet, but want to join us, please make sure you arrive by 10am. We will meet outside the Environmental Learning Center and plan to start our hike by 10:15am.
The round trip hike is only about 2 miles, so it should take us about an hour to make one loop. We can do another loop, or explore some other trails, then have lunch. Or, we can end the hike after a loop. Or, some of you may want to go explore on your own. Whatever you want to do is fine. We'll play it by ear. We threw the 10am-2pm time out there as a general time-frame. Some of our hikes may have longer trails, while some (like today's) will just be a nice short trek.
Some general reminders:
1) BRING A FRIEND! (2 legged and 4 legged are welcome) The trail and the park is dog friendly, as long as you keep your dog under control at all times and on a leash.
2) Pack a lunch or snacks, and bring water for yourself.
3) Dress for the weather…unless it's pouring rain or snowing, we will still plan to be there. And remember it could start pouring rain (or snow) while we're there.
