Beijing Air Crisis--It IS Your Air Too! (a quick lesson in wind currents)

Many of you may have seen the latest reports out of China about the horrific air quality they are experiencing. But that's all the way in China and well it sucks to be them right? It's not coming here so we don't need to worry about it, right? I wish.

Beijing Air Pollution
This photo taken on January 14, 2013 shows Wangjing community under heavy smog in Beijing. Shares in a Chinese face mask manufacturer soared on January 15 as investors looked for opportunities to cash in on the severe air pollution that has blanketed large swathes of China. (STR/AFP/Getty Images)

Here's a quick 2 minute video from Seattle's own, Bill Nye the Science Guy explaining how wind currents work:

And here is a quick info graphic of the global wind currents. As you can see wind currents travel direct from Asia to the US West Coast (a.k.a. All of us).

So now what? Check back tomorrow for 10 simple ways you can reduce air pollution for you, your company, community, country and the world!
